Emily Kim was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and now resides in Ireland’s Sunny South East. She has worked as a designer across many mediums for over a decade. More recently, she received her Master's in Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design (’25), re-focusing her design interests and practice on landscapes near and far.

In her current role, she splits her time between landscape research (creating a digital twin of a local littoral landscape) and lecturing (a Landscape Gal in a B.Arch/BIM world). Her research, both personal and professional, focuses on the ways we represent/obscure landscapes, and the ramifications that has on how we understand, experience, and shape the world around us.

In her free time, she likes to test how far she can go on Irish public transportation; explore local AllTrails hikes; learn how to ring 300kg+ bells; and photograph every cow, sheep, bird, and tree she passes.

She also enjoys collaborating with passionate people from disparate & similar fields on projects of all sizes. If anything said above︎︎︎, below︎︎︎, or within︎︎︎ is of interest, please reach out. She’d love to chat.
