Project Overview
I have always enjoyed walking in New York. But like many others across the country, walks took on new meaning for me with the onset of COVID-19. As I walked around my neighborhood that I had lived in the past 5 years, I began looking for new things to notice. I became fascinated with the wid evariety of brick patterns decorating the exterior of so many Brooklyn buildings. I love the seemingly infinite ways that bricks can be placed to create new shapes and patterns. They became first, a way to look at old buildings with new eyes.
This is an ongoing project. You can find a record of various brick patterns from across Brooklyn onmy Are.na︎︎︎
